Grange of France, A Pair of Cherrywood Bedside Cabinets in the Louis-Philippe Style

$1,250.00
Sold Out

A pair of French cherrywood bedside cabinets by Grange, each with a moulded rectangular top above a single frieze drawer and panelled cupboard door, raised on shaped plinth bases. The warm cherrywood has an attractive mellow colour and subtle variation in the grain.

Produced by the French furniture maker Grange, the cabinets draw on restrained nineteenth-century provincial forms, with simple panelled construction and gently shaped mouldings. Each retains its original brass escutcheon, working brass key and drawer knob, with a maker’s plaque to the interior.

In very good vintage condition, with minor marks and variations to the finish consistent with age and use. Both drawers and cupboard doors operate well.

France, late 20th century.

Dimensions: 41cm wide × 34.5cm deep × 72cm high.
