The circular top is formed from dark green marble with pronounced white veining, probably of Italian origin, above a restrained walnut frieze. The table is raised on four tapering supports enriched with gilt-metal female-mask mounts, pendant palmettes and paw-form feet.
The combination of classical furniture form with Egyptianesque masks reflects the decorative vocabulary established during the French Empire and revived during the later 19th and early 20th centuries.
Presented in good antique condition with the surface variation and minor marks expected of a piece of this age.
