A substantial Victorian centre table in richly figured mahogany, the circular top displaying particularly pronounced flame and rippled figuring. The top is finished with fine decorative stringing within a moulded edge and deep mahogany frieze.
Raised on a substantial faceted pedestal with stepped mouldings, the table terminates in four shaped supports with distinctive trefoil feet. The restrained architectural form and emphasis on highly figured timber are characteristic of the transition from the late William IV period into the early Victorian era.
In very good antique condition, with a rich polished surface and attractive patina. Minor marks, scratches and variations to the finish are consistent with age and use and have been retained.
