An elegant pair of French Belle Époque bedside cabinets in the Louis XV taste, finely executed in richly coloured walnut with shaped white marble tops.
Each cabinet features a single drawer above a fall-front compartment, framed by gently shaped aprons and raised upon slender cabriole legs terminating in scrolling feet. Delicately carved floral ornamentation embellishes the knees and aprons, lending a pleasing refinement to the otherwise restrained design.
Originally conceived as tables de nuit, the cabinets retain their practical arrangement of upper drawers and lower compartments, making them equally suitable as bedside tables or occasional cabinets in a contemporary interior.
Presented in very good antique condition, with minor surface wear and patina consistent with age and use. The marble tops are well preserved, and the cabinets retain their attractive original character.
Dimensions: Each 35 cm W × 34 cm D × 85 cm H.
$350 flat-rate delivery available for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Metropolitan areas. Contact us to arrange inspection or collection by appointment from Teneriffe, Queensland.
