Throughout, the cabinet is faced in richly figured mahogany displaying the mottled figuring traditionally described as “plum pudding”, with the original polished surface retaining considerable depth and warmth.
The restrained architectural proportions and emphasis on highly figured timber place the bookcase at the transition between late Regency and early Victorian cabinetmaking.
Presented in excellent antique condition with a well-preserved original French-polished surface and established patina.
